It has been tasked with quelling criminal violence on the Caribbean island. Canada has pledged $40 million to strengthen the UN-backed mission. The CBC’s Paul Hunter was invited to join UN Secretary General António Guterres on a visit to a Haitian community where the forces will patrol.
