Acceptance is how you manage it. The reason some people are night owls and some aren’t goes all the way back to our hunter gatherer days. Back then, some jobs were done during the day and some jobs were done at night. One famous study of modern hunter-gatherer groups found that people with different sleep schedules meant there was almost always someone awake during the night, potentially helping with things like watching for predators, monitoring fires, and esponding to threats. This is sometimes called the “sentinel hypothesis.” This pre-dispositioned certain people to being more awake and alert in the evenings rather than in the mornings. However, our world is designed around morning people. Measuring yourself up against that when you are a night person is like judging a fish by their ability to climb a tree. Life becomes a whole lot sweeter when you just accept certain things about yourself.

Always always always prioritize sleep. Never make yourself feel guilty about sleeping in if it means you got enough sleep. Getting enough sleep is the cornerstone of health.
