I LOVE that he was scared, unwilling and doubting himself. he wasn't a sacrificial hero, he wasn't running head first into the craziest thing possible to save the planet; but in the end he *did*. he did it, and he was terrified but he did it anyways 😭

i actually love it so much that he didn't just do a 180° and decided to sacrifice his life. people are too used to main characters giving up their lives for "the greater good", or "to save the world" or something equally stupid. real people don't easily make a choice like that, they don't want to sacrifice their lives for the sake of complete strangers, to give up everything for a plan that could go wrong. real people usually want to live. it is unethical to even ask for someone to do this, and they literally drugged him and put him on the ship by force, so sad.
