They were my Citi balance transfer cards. When I had credit card debt, a 0% interest balance transfer did more for my financial situation than any reward points ever could. It gave me breathing room. It gave me a plan. Most importantly, it helped me pay down debt without interest piling up every month. A lot of people chase status with credit cards. I chase functionality. The best credit card isn’t the one that impresses people. The best credit card is the one that solves your problem. If you’re carrying high-interest debt, a balance transfer card may be worth more than the fanciest AMEX in your wallet. Don’t choose credit cards based on hype.
