Just the other day I felt " bougie" bc all of my lunch, (bread, meats,&cheese) was from a local store. cheaper than the grocery store but still not anything was prepackaged.

For us it’s a few things…don’t have to check the credit card balance till it’s time to pay for it in FULL (that’s the important part), I don’t have to check my balance on my checking account, my bills are all on autopay, we can retire tomorrow and live comfortably if we wanted to.

For me, it will be when I have six months of expenses saved. I've got my $1000 emergency savings account set, and I'm working on that debt snowball. I finally have stable money coming in, so I can deal with the debt, which feels amazing.

I think this done in stages. I already feel I’ve made it since I now budget, keep track of my money and every dollar now has a purpose. And I’ve paid down $8k off our $35k debt outside of our mortgage since January 2026.
