I told my German boyfriend that my cat is my baby and I gave birth to him, and then showed him an OBVIOUS montage photo of my cat in a human ultrasound! I was expecting a laugh, but he got silent and then said how he is genuinely worried about my mental health cause I keep saying I gave birth to my cat and I should know it isn’t physically possible! So ever since then, I have to say I am joking whenever I make a joke like an idiot!

Im an American with AuDHD and served in Germany in the early 2000s. I absolutely loved Germany. I wish I could live there again.
