LINK IN BIO FOR NEW PODCAST EPISODE! One of the biggest things that can cause tension between two people sexually, and in a marriage, is the stigmatization of desire. For the longest time, our culture has normalized those who are spontaneously aroused and extremely reactive to sexual cues. And if you don’t fit into that bucket, something must be wrong with you or your hormones. But the recent discoveries in sex science have changed everything. It has been found that there are two desire frameworks — spontaneous and responsive. And both are completely normal and natural. Both people can be extremely sexual, it just takes a different path to getting there. If you do not understand this, or are constantly trying to change your partner, it’s only going to create friction. And you’re probably not going to get what you want, anyway. It’s extremely important to mention that not *ALL* men are spontaneous and not *ALL* women are responsive. In the minority of cases, sometimes those roles are reversed, which is also normal and natural. This does not make a man “less of a man” and it does not make the woman some extremely horny alien. It is just how they are wired. We dive deeper into this concept in Episode 14 of the Mighty Pursuit Podcast with Dr. Ian Kerner, who is one of the most recognizable voices in sex science. First rising to fame for his New York Times bestselling book She Comes First, Kerner’s work has been regularly featured in the New York Times, CNN, CBS, and The Atlantic. Over the last 30 years, Kerner has worked with thousands of patients in his clinical practice and has successfully helped both individuals and couples.
