The Sternritters are just so overbloated and don't give you much reason to care. But the Espada just hit diff, (with the exception of Yammy, Zommari, and Nnoitra.)

I think why I like the Espada more than the Sternritter (even tho I like both a lot) is probably the quantity of them. The Espada are a team of 10 (11 when you add Nel and maybe 14 if you count Aizen, Gin, and Tosen as they’re bosses) while the Sternritter are like around 28. Because of that the Espada feel more explored and are given more screentime for them to have a impactful presence while with the Sternritter I love plenty of them but others definitely feel like boss fights mainly with maybe a fun power. Now not all the Espada are hits *cough Yammy cough* but because of the amount of members it at least feels like the Espada have more hits than the Sternritter, even tho when the Sternritter hit it’s a really good one.
