persona series being a male dominated fandom is the worst thing that couldve happened to it and it did and the fandom is trash so my recommendation to new fans is to do whatever you want and dont mind people calling you a larp because more than half of them are actually the larps theyre making fun of

And wait… you didn’t know that Bryce papenbrook plays a character in persona 5 that was later recast in royal but didn’t replace his voicelines so the character has two different voice actors inside the game and they sound completely different?! I’ve been in the persona fandom for 2 years and the fandom is genuinely the reason my interest in persona has started to die a little because I cannot do ANYTHING without criticism or just having awful experiences in general. The thing I hate most in this fandom is the sexualisation of the characters. I’ve met a lot of horrific people through this fandom that I thought were my friends, but were actually awful people. I won’t get into everything they did but trust me it was bad, one person in particular having to have a police report made about him cus it was so bad. The common thing with all of them was that they sexualised the hell outta the characters (and therefore they all sexualised people (minors) irl as well). I figured oh maybe I’ve just had bad luck with people online but NO it’s irl too. I like going to cosplay conventions and I love cosplaying persona characters and LEMME TELL YOU literally whoever I chose to cosplay, even characters who are fully covered like Akechi, get sexualised. People have the audacity to say weird things to me or follow me round or touch me at cons whenever I’m dressed as persona (WITH MY MUM RIGHT THERE TOO??) yet I rarely run into this issue when I’m cosplaying any other fandom for it’s clearly the persona fans that are the problem. Like I’m genuinely a happier person now that my main fandom rn is something else and I think that says enough 💔

just don't pay attention to them, play the games you want, also the real "larpers" are the people who actually think that no one should play p1, p2, p2 innocent sin, etc because they are old or do not have the systems from p3 like the calendar system or one more system
