@lovenav.content: creating content should genuinely be the EASY part. if it's not, keep reading ↓ 1) mindset is the actual job: the content? that's actually the fun part. what will genuinely test you is the 6 weeks+ of silence after you launch. the brands who ghost you after 3 follow ups. the gifted deal you said yes to because you thought it would lead somewhere and it didn't. none of that means you're failing. keep going!!! BUT if creating genuinely bores you though, clients will feel it. and you'll 100% burn out faster than you did at your 9–5. creating content should genuinely be the EASY part. if it's not, keep reading ↓ I've been doing this full time for 3 years so here are my 2 cents. 1) mindset is the actual job: the content? that's actually the fun part. what will genuinely test you is the 6 weeks+ of silence after you launch. the brands who ghost you after 3 follow ups. the gifted deal you said yes to because you thought it would lead somewhere and it didn't. none of that means you're failing. keep going!!! BUT if creating genuinely bores you though, clients will feel it. and you'll 100% burn out faster than you did at your 9–5. 🔥 hot tip: when the crickets hit, use that time to refine your portfolio, google a bunch of agencies and apply to them/ cold outbound, and stalk on LinkedIn. silence is NOT a stop sign. it's admin time girlypop! 2) on the grind era: i know i know... it's practical advice nobody wants to hear. but batch your content before you need it. pitch 10 brands before you need the money. build your portfolio when you have zero pressure to. the creators who make it aren't necessarily more talented, they're just further ahead because they started treating it like a business earlier than everyone else. OOP. 🔥 hot tip: set yourself a non-negotiable weekly pitch target - even just 20 cold pitches a week compounds faster than you think. 3) you are not special (& that's a good thing) there's a concept in The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson that basically says you are not a unique snowflake - and honestly it's the most useful thing I've ever applied to my life & business. there are creators out there with more technical skill, more cinematic edits, more experience than me. undoubtedly. but my personality, my price point, my value? it suits a whole range of clients that maybe those creators don't. I'm so aware there are creators more technically advanced than me and yet I'm still out here making ads that are generating a shittonne of money for my clients. you don't need to be the best. you just need to be right for SOMEONE. 🔥 hot tip: stop looking at what other creators are doing and start getting really clear on who YOUR person is. what brands align with your vibe, your values, your aesthetic? pitch those. stop pitching everyone. - Love, Nav | xoxo Gossip Gilligan #ugccreator #ugcaustralia #contentcreator #ugctips #creatorbusiness
