I had a similar experience once. I met a guy who asked me who my favorite Korean singer was. I said Taemin, and he asked who that was. I explained he is a member of Shinee, and he literally said, "OHHH YOU MEAN TÄÄEEEEEEMIN!" 😭😂

Everytime I try to say I'm from Bulgaria 🤣 I try the Korean pronunciation, the English pronunciation and then my Korean friends say it nearly identically and they understand 😅

that's not 1%. mispronouncing two letters out of 7 letters is almost 30%! There are 600 stations in Seoul alone

Help this is so real i tried to order a hazelnut latte at a cafe once and said everything else perfectly but was having a harder time saying hazelnut with the hangul pronunciation and they acted like they had no idea what i was saying even when i said hazelnut in flat out english 😭 took me typing the word out for them to go “아 헤이즐넛“ the ㅈ is the only diff in sound help
