It’s not about managing attraction. I love my wife dearly and she loves me, and we have for nearly 30 years. There’s a difference between recognizing that someone is attractive and actually being attracted to someone. I can look at a person and easily recognize that they’re objectively attractive without feeling any actual attraction toward them. If that makes sense haha. To me, there’s a line between noticing someone’s appearance and actually developing a feeling of attraction toward them. And once you cross that line (especially if you’re consciously entertaining or pursuing that attraction) I feel like you’re stepping into territory that can be disrespectful to your significant other.
