@clevelandtraveler: ad | Erie, Pennsylvania makes for a great weekend getaway, no matter what kind of trip you’re looking for. I took a solo trip to @VisitErie with @Visit PA, and I’d love to tell you all about it! The top 3 things I did included: 1. Spending a day at Presque Isle State Park. With more than 7 miles of sandy beaches along Lake Erie and so much to see for free, I understand why this is PA’s most-visited park! Presque Isle Beach Bums set me up with a beach chair and canopy for the day at Beach 6, and I took full advantage of it. 2. A sunset sail on the Sotto Voce with Captain Scott and his crew at Your Sailing Adventure. We headed out at golden hour, and there’s really nothing more exhilarating than a sailboat cutting through the water under full sail as the sun sets - core memory for sure! 3. A solo spa treatment at Monacella Day Spa. I enjoyed a honey and clover-infused salt-sugar scrub, followed by their super unique Blast Vichy Shower, which is one of only a few Vichy showers in the world. I did other things, too, like went up Bicentennial Tower for some panoramic views over Erie; browsed for books at Pressed Books & Cafe; enjoyed sundowners around fire pits at Oliver’s Beer Garden; and of course ate really well! Some of my favorite bites of the trip included: • a shrimp salad with lake views at Pier 6 Rooftop • both a latte flight and French toast flight at Bay and Berry Cafe • brisket from Federal Hill Smokehouse • an iconic orange-and-vanilla twist cone at Sara’s near Presque Isle And I stayed at the Courtyard Erie Bayfront Hotel, which is literally RIGHT on the water at Bayfront Landing and gives off major resort vibes. There’s lots more to experience in Erie, too, no matter what kind of trip you want to plan. So if you haven’t put Erie and Pennsylvania on your summer to-do list yet, this is your sign!
