This (the conference, not your video) is all the trial balloon and the normalization of the discussion. Kind of like how trans rights and healthcare access weren’t a debate through the 2010s, but now our trans siblings have been made into scapegoats and are losing ground every day, because the conversation was normalized and went mainstream.

My field of knowledge is largely in physics, chemistry and mathematics, but if I’m not mistaken, wasn’t a lot of the women’s suffrage movement really helped by African American women during the early 1900s? My understanding was that White women during 1900-1920s weren’t gaining enough support, on their own because their husbands wouldn’t financially support it, and many White women didn’t feel moved enough to protest the status quo, so they enlisted the help of African American women to help bolster their numbers and garner more support, right? Do I have my facts right or wrong here? Also this was at the height of Jim Crow segregation laws so I’m surprised they got that help 🤔
