theres a reason for it usually too. as you get older, the experiences you have and the things youve learned enrich your writing and give you more to work with for your world building. most of these people had education that extended beyond just vocabulary lessons and sentence structure.

growing up with a dad who's a writer i know it can take sometimes a whole decade to finally finish a novel. I've published some short stories with his help but I'm working now on my first attempt at a novel at 37 and I'm 75 pages into a first draft 2 months in. Slow and steady is the way.
