Hurr was a respected commander in the army sent by Yazid to intercept Imam Hussain (a.s.) and prevent him from continuing his journey. It was Hurr who first stopped Imam Hussain's caravan and escorted it toward Karbala. Yet, despite carrying out his orders, he treated Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his family with respect and witnessed their patience, dignity, and commitment to truth. As the events of Ashura drew near, Hurr realized that Imam Hussain (a.s.) was being denied justice and that the army of Yazid intended to fight against the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (游).Adeep struggle began within his heart. He understood that he stood between Paradise and Hell, truth and falsehood. On the morning of Ashura, overcome with remorse, Hurr left Yazid's army and rode towards Imam Hussain (a.s.), seeking forgiveness for his role in bringing the caravan to Karbala.
