@beautysecrets_au: Proportion or Symmetry? What do you notice first? People often assume that beauty is simply about creating perfect symmetry. But the face is much more complex than that. In clinic, one of the most common misconceptions I hear is that every asymmetry needs to be corrected. In reality, that isn’t always the case. Our faces naturally have small differences from one side to the other. Eyes may sit slightly differently, brows are rarely identical, and smiles are often beautifully unique. These subtle variations are part of what gives each person character and individuality. Rather than chasing perfection, my focus is always on harmony and proportion. Thoughtful assessment and a personalised approach can help create a more balanced appearance while still respecting the features that make you uniquely you. Some asymmetries can draw attention and, when appropriate, addressing them may help the face appear more refreshed and harmonious. But creating a perfectly mirrored face is never the goal. If you look at some of the world’s most photographed faces, you’ll notice they aren’t perfectly symmetrical. Their beauty comes from the way their features work together, not from identical measurements. Beautiful results aren’t about changing who you are. They’re about understanding facial structure, proportions and preserving the characteristics that make you recognisable. Sometimes, the features people are most concerned about are the very things that make them memorable. Educational information only. Every face is unique and treatment recommendations, if appropriate, are discussed during a personalised consultation. #Repost @dr.rivkin
