js to clarify, I don’t mean that makeup is bad or that people only wear makeup because they need it. I love makeup and I enjoy wearing it. what I mean is that I’m investing in skincare so I can feel confident in my skin even without makeup 😅

i think people are adding a meaning that wasn’t there. when i said “because i want to, not because i need to,” i was talking about myself and my own relationship with skincare and makeup. i wasn’t referring to anyone else’s reasons for wearing makeup, nor was i implying that people who wear it for acne, scars, or insecurities are somehow less valid. what i was saying i want to be confident enough that wearing makeup feels like a choice for me. everyone has different experiences, and my post was only about wanting to feel confident in my own skin while still enjoying makeup ☺️i think intent and interpretation are two different things. if some people interpreted it that way, i understand. but my statement was about myself, not about other people^^
