How do scheduled c section patients handle this? I have been severely distressed over the spinal block procedure. I’m not even scared of the surgery, but I have really bad medical anxiety and medical trauma from my childhood and am terrified this process will be painful and something may go wrong. What can I request of my anesthesiologist? For example, would them injecting the local anesthetic slowly reduce the pain of it? Do you guys tend to buffer the local anesthetic prior? I saw some women put topical numbing cream on their back before the actual local is injected to dull the sensation of the needle insertion. I just don’t want to be a complicated patient but I’m also dealing with really bad anxiety. Thank you

if you can manage on performing the procedure painlessly, props to you. My personal experience during and post LP is PAINNNN 😳 and nausea. Perhaps it’s bc of my hEDS but still love /enjoy watching your educational videos.

I had three spinals with Csections and another spinal for arthroscopy and none of the spinals ever hurt at all!

Do you have any communication recommendations for a patient getting a spinal who has hEDS? Personal experience has been delayed healing, needing blood patches, and need more anesthesia to actually work as efficiently compared to someone without hEDS. I don’t want to come across as a fear monger, but still need to advocate for myself.

I wonder, I have had three attempts at epidurals and not one of them worked but my spines in pretty rough shape from a car accident so I wonder if I ever need to have either a hip replacement or knee replacement if that would even work for me
