you've already taken the caliper off to remove the pads. quicker to undo the carrier and paint them properly rather than tapping

Never understood all that masking up! Just take it off wash in gunk wire brush wipe with panel wipe they prime it flat that then paint it, takes ten minutes to remove and fit them and another ten minutes to bleed them up after. Done hundreds.
