We desperately need to retire the idea that speaking well is inherently tied to whiteness. Intelligence and eloquence are not exclusive to any one race. If we're talking about someone being 'whitewashed,' that usually refers to a deeper cultural disconnection, such as intentionally distancing oneself from other Black people, looking down on the community, or entirely abandoning Black spaces and culture. Let's stop giving away our intellect as if it doesn't belong to us.
