be in the correct gear for the speed you are doing speeding up or slowing down, keeping the engine revs between 2000 and 3000, depending on how you are driving

watched loads of these videos when I was learning and getting ready for my test, they never really made sense as it was different from my instructor, now I watch them and think duh?? you don't learn to drive instinctively untill you pass your test and drive on your own

brakes have improved massively since the gear down way of driving was introduced, engine braking is only a benefit when carrying speed. for instance motorways. this will keep the car balanced safe fuel and send unnecessary signals to drivers when not needed

Many earlier cars had disk brakes to the front and drum brakes to the rear. Drum brakes are not as efficient on braking so gearing down was taught as a form of slowing the vehicle down.

go down gearbox so ur never costing. u have more control and brakes won't lock up.

if im slowing down by 10kmh or 20ish, i dont use the brake at all, i try braking with the engine fully
