I fully support health and safety, but sometimes it feels like it's gone too far. There are jobs where a simple hop-up would be perfectly safe, yet we're required to build a full scaffold tower, even when there's barely enough space for one. We also have to wear chin straps at all times, even when working at ground level. Safety is important, but common sense should still play a part.

To many managers without a trade background. Been on sits for forty years now and when I started all mangers were either ex joiners or brickie. They could spot and deal with problems as the cropped up.

Yes let’s talk about the rates 😡 absolutely shocking, considering how much the cost of living has gone up. Our rates have gone down. Yet house prices have only gone up and up for years now. Someone’s making lots of money somewhere not us!!

apprentices just arent happening now, loads of kids are getting through college then stumbling at the final hurdle cause they cant get the final apprenticeship to complete.

As a carpenter I got kicked off site whilst doing first fix stud work because of saw dust on the floor, bare shell house no windows or doors fitted yet, plenty of ventilation 💀
