The robot rolls up to your door alongside a human safety supervisor and gets straight to work. It walks your dog, folds your laundry, wipes down tables, picks up cat hair, loads the washing machine, and even reminds you to take your medicine. The whole three hour session costs around twenty two U.S. dollars, the same price as hiring a regular cleaner in China. The technology behind it is called Wall B, an embodied AI foundation model built by X Square Robot that lets the machine understand messy real world homes instead of controlled lab environments. The robot is slower than a human maid for now, but every run makes it smarter because Wall B learns your home as it works. Investors backing X Square Robot include Alibaba, ByteDance, Xiaomi, and Meituan, a strong signal of how seriously China's biggest tech players are treating in home robotics.
