@themiddlegrace: Midlife has been quite the journey. When I was younger, this stage of life was never on my radar and then ….it showed up like an uninvited guest. Nobody prepared us for this part of midlife. Nobody! And it kinda pisses me off if I were to be honest. Not the wrinkles. Not the gray hair. Not even menopause. The part where you wake up one day and realize you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else... And now you’re wondering: What do I want? No more kids, emotions all over the place, you want to be still but not in a I wanna retire way. You just feel lost, and it’s not always the best feeling. You start thinking about what you need to feel at peace. Not what everyone else needs. Not what’s expected. What do I want? That’s not selfish to me, It’s awakening. A coming of age you will. It’s a journey for sure. One I’m happy to even see, because not everyone makes it to this stage in life.
