@in.good.hands.collective: I always recommend introducing new skills based on baby’s development, NOT age. Age is simply a guideline, a rough outline of when we expect to start seeing these skills come out based on *most* babies. Not ALL babies. For example, *many* babies show sitting readiness around 4 months old, but that doesn’t mean YOUR baby is ready yet. Some show it earlier at 3 months, some show it later at 5-6 months. Both are okay, they all develop at different paces. If your 4 month old doesn’t have the core stability for this, they aren’t ready. That’s not failure, they aren’t “behind,” their body is telling you it has some work to do in other areas first to be most effective in this skill. Don’t rush it, don’t panic, just meet them where they are 💕 #sitting #babydevelopment #tummytime #rolling

This answered every question I have had about my 3 month old who isn’t rolling yet but has CRAZY trunk engagement and keeps wanting to sit up, but I felt like he wasn’t “allowed” to yet bc he wasn’t rolling.

My baby is a tummy time queen, has really good neck and head control, but still curls when sitting. Shes 5 months and hit majority of her milestones early.

Do you have tips for tummy time for a 4 month old baby with severe reflux? She loves being on her tummy, she pushes herself up, great neck strength but after a minute or two, she vomits and puts her face in it 😅 we usually wait a minimum of 30 mins after feeding but it happens every time

My 2 1/2 month old LOVES the “sitting” position because she can look around so I’m always putting her in that position and supporting her, is this bad for her back or any other important bones/ligaments?

I tried this and he pulled himself up to stand. When I sit him down he just looks to his feet and then puts his foot in his mouth and then falls to the side? My guys weirdly obsessed with his feet

Tummy time is not for her, and honestly I'm struggling with it myself because I work 5 days a week, and weekends I just want us to rest... I neither have the time, nor patience. But we're trying. We try to try. Oh, I can't stand tummy time.

my baby is on tummy all the time when awake, he's rolling all over the floor, does airplane pose, turns clockwise, lifts on straight arms but is extremely floppy when seated, folds immediately. he's 7mo. i can't give them more tummy time since it's impossible

Our 5 month old still needs assistance in sitting, but my husband wants to get a walker for her already when we can barely sit. Any advice?💕

Though another physiotherapist says a baby is ready to sit when he sits up by himself. Otherwise they might develop motoric problems, for example, instead of crawling they would slide on their buttocks. 🤔

If baby is using your fingers and pulling themselves completely up to a sitting position from laying down is that a good sign that they’re ready?

My 4 month old does tripod seating at the beginning and she keeps her back quite straight while leaning forward. She wants to touch everything so it’s hard to make her practice something, but the piano from fisher price helps a lot
