@plentyofalohamarkets: There’s a new #takoyaki truck at the Varsity Building lot and I’m addicted! @cocoballs_hawaii is run by Yasu, who was born in Osaka and raised in Tokyo. He has five main flavors: original, BBQ mayo, green onion & ponzu, mentaiko mayo, and black truffle. The first time I went, I ordered BBQ mayo. The second time I went, I ordered half & half because I couldn’t decide between black truffle and mentaiko. (Half of each is the way to go!) The takoyaki is served piping hot, like little balls of magma, and I love that there are big chunks of octopus in them. For something different, try the tako-sen, where he uses octopus senbei like taco shells and fills them with three takoyaki and sauce to make a tako taco.
