Morocco here, we do not use zelige in the shower, we use tadellakt, zelige isn't just a tile, patterns have meaning, some are sacred and the malam won't let you put them in specific areas they won't even let you flip them upside down (the bride and brides mades for instance, the bride head has to be upward for instance), the same with colors, there are specific colors that aren't allowed in unholy spaces, others cannot be on the floor...it's a very spiritual craft. thank you for this wonderful informative video.

i swear not enough people are worried about long term passively accumulating water damage ☠️. I knew someone who installed a diy bathroom in a basement that wasnt fully refinished. the shower stall was directly underneath fully exposed ground floor support beams (under her master bedroom too!). I asked her if she thought that was wise and her response was "why not, it's moisture treated wood!" 🤦

General contractor here. I recently installed this in a clients shower and we had to do three separate orders from Morocco of this tile to finish the install because the homeowner was so unhappy with the color variation. I tried multiple times to have them scrap the idea because it wasn’t for them but instead the designer kept pushing it and we had to basically hand select every single square . Shower took more than 6 months to complete waiting on the separate orders and it was the biggest nightmare of my career

Potter here. Those aren't "water bubbles" in those tiles. They are flaws in the clay due to either inclusions that shouldn't be there or firing the clay too hot. They are not quality tiles at all!
