I used to work 9hour shifts EVERY DAY in my retail job in 5inch heels. My method was to wear my brand new (unworn) shoes around the house and do daily tasks in them. Another one is putting thick socks on and then putting the shoes on and blasting with a hairdryer helps soften and very slightly stretch the shoes out to be more comfortable.

People forget to mention the heels matter as well open toed mules tend to be much more comfortable because theres no friction on the heel and the toes
