Nom jang (also called ansom kbong) is a traditional Cambodian plain, un-filled sticky rice cake. Glutinous sweet rice is mixed with coconut milk and a pinch of salt, tightly wrapped into a cylindrical or pyramid shape using banana leaves, and then boiled or steamed until cooked. Don’t confuse it with num jang tho “a popular Korean dipping sauce or marinade often made with grated Asian pear and soy sauce”
