Globanamorphism - GAP :
The agony of Africa is the burden of our genetic myopia, our consistent inability to see the truth in front of us. If Nkrumah never dies then we are in for a long run of trouble. Because we need his spirit to die and leave Africa alone. Nkrumah’s biggest legacy? Despotism. Period. And it amazes me that we are still too philosophically immature to see this. Here was a man given the greatest of responsibility: ushering black Africa into an age of functional multiparty democracy, the only true mechanism for state growth and progress. What did he do instead? Initiate the continent into the destructive culture that has since ruined post colonial Africa. Partisan politics, leadership of personality cults, oppressive hijack of state apparatus, and the obsessive love for power at all cost. Nkrumah had the chance for peaceful transfer of power after his tenure was legally over, retirement to a farm and continued contribution to governance as an elderly statesman. That singular act would have created a much healthier, thriving Africa than what we have today. His dubious destructive greed for power destroyed that. It is deeply sad that we still are not evolved enough to see this. 🤨
