in my town it is a 30 minute walk to town center and 5-50 minutes by bus (depends what bus is running.) but they constantly overcharge. sometimes it costs £4+ for a ticket.

don’t forget the social aspect of it, young people can’t hang out in groups anymore without being accused of suspicious activity or “loitering” by adults with nothing else to do. there’s also nothing to do that doesn’t cost money and I’ve heard of many stores and shops not letting young people in due to their age

When I was a kid I used to get in trouble for… nothing. One time a woman yelled at me for being on rollerskates because her dog was barking at me and she sent me home. Like personally I had so many random people staring at me and judging me when I was a kid whenever I went out. And nowadays you see everyone complaining about kids doing nothing but it’s “anti social behaviour” or whatever

Damn are the buses in the rest of the country that bad? I’m a mancunian so we are blessed with the bee network (free for 16-18 and heavy discounts for children) but like… I can’t be out in town a lot cause it’s not safe, wtf am i supposed to do
