@policebodycamarrestshq: Comedian Carlos Mencia (58) (whose legal name is Ned Arnel Holness) was arrested at 7:05 AM Thursday June 18 at his Los Angeles home by authorities. He faces 12 felony charges filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's new Business Tax Fraud Unit. Prosecutors allege Mencia failed to report or pay taxes on more than $8.7 million in earnings between 2019 and 2024. Authorities noted he had been sent 78 delinquent notices from the state without a response. He is facing a total of 12 Felony counts. 6 counts of failure to file personal income tax with intent to evade. 6 counts of failure to file corporate income tax with intent to evade. If he is convicted on all 12 counts, Mencia faces a maximum of 11 years and 4 months in state prison. On top of the prison time, the court will slap him with the original tax bill plus compounded interest and fraud penalties, which officials estimate will nearly double the total amount he has to pay back.
