Our Beautiful Two Years of Love
I was 18 when I met her. We were both newly hired at a call center company. She was 19. At first, I was too shy to approach her. But as time passed, we started talking more and more. There was something different about her. I know it's not right to measure a person's worth, but she had a kind of heart that was rare—gentle, genuine, and full of kindness. She deserves to be recognized for the wonderful person she is.
We spent countless hours talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. Eventually, we fell in love. She became my first girlfriend, and I became her first boyfriend.
We both gave our best to our relationship. I tried to love her with everything I had, and she loved me in the same way. Looking back, I can honestly say our relationship felt beautiful. We built dreams together, made promises, carried each other's burdens, and celebrated each other's victories. We breathed the same air, walked the same roads, and shared countless memories that I will treasure forever.
Every Sunday, we attended Holy Mass together. We were both deeply rooted in our faith. I even promised that one day, I would marry her in the very parish where I served as an altar server. At that time, I truly believed God had blessed me with the most wonderful woman I could ever ask for. But life had another plan. Our love did not end because of betrayal, toxicity, or because our feelings faded. In fact, our love remained. We chose to separate because sometimes love asks us to sacrifice what we cherish the most.
In 2024, after seven years of serving God, I began to feel a different kind of calling—a vocation to the priesthood. After months of prayer and discernment, I entered the seminary on June 7, 2024. Before I left, we talked about it many times. We cried together over the memories we had made—the meals we shared, the places we visited, the dreams we built, and the life we once imagined together. She told me, "If one day you realize that the priesthood is not where God is calling you, I'll still be here waiting for you." Those words have stayed with me ever since. Even now, I still love her. We still talk from time to time, though no longer as lover
