@cbcnews: Studies show that fallopian tube removal can reduce your risk of the most common forms of ovarian cancer, but the procedure isn't widely known across Canada. Here's what doctors want you to know. #health #women #cbcradio
Ha! I can’t even get my primary physician to refer me to a dermatologist to look at my moles 😬

I’ve been part of this study since 2010. No regrets. No complaints. Best decision I’ve made for myself.

I tried to get this in Ontario and got told I would be denied the operation because my husband needed to “approve” the procedure.

FOR CANADIANS LOOKING TO GET THIS SURGERY: I got mine done at 25 (6 years ago) and this is my advice. Always have your physician refer you to the same gyno. Go every year, bug them, keep asking for the surgery. Gather resources; the Canadian Contraceptive Consensus is the framework for contraceptive care in Canada and they have a section on perm birth control. Try LARCs or other long acting BC options (like depo), if they are not tolerated that's another point towards perm BC.

Ha! Try and find a doctor that will say yes! I tried multiple times and was told I needed to have at least two children first or basically be outside of “productive” years

I tried at 37/38. I was told my husband should get a vasectomy because it's easier. I had three kids. Stayed on birth control as per doctor's orders and had a surprise baby at 40.

I had this done last April. I didn’t even know it was an option until my surgeon told me, and she was so excited to tell me, because I was flagged as an ovarian cancer risk. I recommend this to everyone!!

I had the option of adding this procedure when I was getting my partial colectomy for diverticulitis. I’m so glad I did it! It added NO additional pain or issues.

I got it done a couple years ago! It’s been amazing! Easy recovery and wonderful not to worry about ovarian cancer when I was getting my cyst monitored.

I added my salpingectomy to an abdominal exploratory LAP. 25 years old, only needed to have an appt with a medical counselor, fill out this form, 1 more doctors appt review and then they agreed.
