people are just upset that it wasn't the best most unpredictable and mind blowing plot they've ever seen. they're mad because it was a "good" show and not excellent or ground breaking. mind you, this was goose's first show of this length and now we probably won't see her write anything again or have a chance to improve her writing because of how people acted about it.

I personally found it lacking because there was just so much that felt hinted at and not really explored just to focus on Jax, but it wasn't the worst ever. I think TADC is mostly the victim of theory-crafting setting expectations too high. Maybe if I were more invested in the series, I might have more thoughts on it and be more disappointed, but I'm not really.

I've been watching the show since the beginning and I have enjoyed every episode. The ending made sense to me, considering how the show was going. It's also loosely based on "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" so in my opinion, people shouldn't have been surprised by the ending.

They definitely are full of shit. Jax isn’t necessarily a self insert, people just ran with “Jax is the worst parts of myself/things that I had to heal from” and assumed a whole bunch of bullshit. Especially since she’s gone through conversion therapy. Eps1-8 are very well-paced for their timeslots and they feel very cohesive, I just think Goose fumbled the end a little as well as did some experimental things not seen with the other episodes, and I’m not surprised given that this is her first project. I personally loved it despite that, and there’s always fanfic to fill in the holes or explore what hasn’t been talked about. I hope you enjoy it! It’s very close to my heart

I wish I could say this is exclusive to TADC, but I’ve seen plenty of people say that the finale or how a show ends is what makes or breaks the entire series for them. Meanwhile I liked it a lot and it was a firm 8/10 for me, if I had to rate it. The 8 is only because I’m sort of confused about a couple of things, but that might become clearer on a rewatch.

I loved the finale. I know people are upset because every single thing hasnt been answered but as a writer, some things are not important enough. the point of the story is these characters and the company behind caine is not the point.

the ending was fine, it just left alot of unanswered questions. on top of a bunch of controversies that popped up right b4 the movie dropped, the Fandom got real toxic real fast (Im more of a casual fan tho, so while I agree with some ppls issues on everything leading up to the end of it, there are more concerning things to worry abt and put my effort into atm. would love to hear ur take on it if you do binge the show!)

I really liked that they kept the scope as limited as they did. Asmuch as I want to know more, leaving all these questions unanswered and focusing on the characters personal arcs was so much more satisfying that a lore heavy dump answering everything.

It's not a bad show. It's not. I didn't like it that much? But like, it's not bad, it's got some interesting subtext. Honestly the ending felt unsatisfying? I feel like it left more open than it actually closed in the end, and I don't like a particular choice they made in regards to the characters and the reasoning behind it but that is considered spoilers.

idk for me the ending was satisfying. not every question needs to be answered some things can be left up for interpretation imo. i think the ending wrapped things up and sent the message gooseworx was trying to send ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i really liked it. also the demonization of jax needs to be studied. he’s an asshole but people act like he’s pure evil for no reason other than to make the others suffer 🙄

Personally, being a fan and slowly learning that the reason the female characters don't get as much development, don't get developed past the first 3 episodes, or are just there for a man's development, is because gooseworks is a misogynist despite being a trans woman and having to deal with misogyny herself ruined the show for me more than the writing itself. Like now I can't even say "oh there was potential for blah blah" because she never wanted to write girls in the first place.
