I’m gonna miss this! :
People need to be ok with when they ask a question and get an answer that subject is over. No means no.

Detective Boy heard the title and immediately reached for his notebook. “The power of saying no.” Interesting. Power over what? Power over whom? Because every time the ego talks about power, Detective Boy notices there’s usually somebody else in the story. Then came the next clue: “Protect your peace.” Protect it from what? If peace can be threatened, was it peace? If somebody can take your peace, then they must be more powerful than your peace. That sounds like a fragile peace. A conditional peace. A peace that depends on circumstances behaving correctly. Then Detective Boy spotted the biggest clue of all. “Yes to You, No to Them.” Who is “you”? Who is “them”? Nobody ever defines these terms. They just assume separation and start building an entire philosophy on top of it. Notice the setup. First there’s a “you.” Then there’s a “them.” Then there’s conflict. Then there’s defense. Then there’s boundaries. Then there’s protection. Then there’s a book. The whole thing depends on the original assumption that you and them are separate interests competing for the same resources. Detective Boy wrote in the margin: What if the problem started with “them”? Because once you create a “them,” you’ve already left peace behind. And here’s the funny part. How do you know you’ve been saying yes to them all these years? How do you know you’ve been saying no to yourself? What is this self they’re talking about? The one that changes every day? The one with different opinions every week? The one that keeps rewriting its autobiography? Detective Boy noticed that everybody is busy protecting peace, defending peace, maintaining peace, and setting boundaries around peace. Very few stop and ask a simpler question: If peace is what you are, who exactly is threatening it? 🤔
