For those in the comments arguing "We shouldn't celebrate birthdays when we get old" are cruel. a birthday is a celebration of you coming into this world and guess what?. you don't get it everyday it's a 1 time thing that should be treasured because you never know when you won't be able to throw them another party, or make them another cake, to see the joy on their face one last time before they go no matter the circumstances. a birthday should be cherished. not seen as something to grow out of
