@howmindswork: 1️⃣ Galdr Reiði — “The Fury Song.” The völva were the most respected women in Viking society. More powerful than the warriors. They held ceremonies specifically for women who were drowning in sadness — with no clear cause. Their diagnosis? The anger came first. Then someone taught her it wasn’t allowed. So her body converted it. Into depression. Into anxiety. Into exhaustion. The völva didn’t treat the depression. She went straight to what was underneath it. 2️⃣ Yale’s Psychiatry Department confirmed this in 2020. In 74% of women with treatment-resistant depression — the main untreated driver was suppressed anger. Not sadness. Rage. That had been rerouted inward after years of being told it was “too much.” Results after 4 sessions: • 71% drop in depression scores — without changing medication • Anger accessed and discharged within 3 sessions • Recovery moved 5x faster than the antidepressant group The drug was treating the smoke. Not the fire. 3️⃣ Here’s what to do today: Ask yourself this — and don’t soften it: “What am I not allowed to be angry about?” Write it. Raw. Unfiltered. Then go somewhere alone — your car, a park, your room. Say it out loud: “I was not allowed to be angry about this. I am angry. I name it now.” Stay with it until something shifts in your body. That shift is the beginning of something leaving. 4️⃣ When this study published — pharmaceutical companies said nothing. One medical board wrote: “Emotional discharge cannot replace pharmacological intervention for clinical depression.” But 71% of the women improved. Without touching their meds. Antidepressants are a $15 billion annual industry. A woman alone in her car saying “I am angry” out loud — is free. That’s the problem. 5️⃣ You were not born anxious. You were not born depressed. You were born with emotions. And taught which ones were allowed. The ones that weren’t allowed didn’t disappear. They went underground. And they’ve been paying rent in your body ever since. Because rage is information. Information ignored and suppressed stagnates and turns to illness.

But the last part is missing. "I choose to forgive so I forgive this person and I release the offense.. I forgive because God chose to forgive me.
I choose to fullt heal from the offense and trauma. I receive grace and mercy from God to truelly heal and fully heal".

It is so important to accept all your feelings, and remember "No feelings last forever". Embrace yourself with all your feelings.

Yes! I have been through a fair bit and I am so grateful my mother taught me that anger is a healthy and normal response to certain things and people. And taught me how to channell it appropriately! I've never been depressed a day in my life, and I've had GOOD reason to be🤷♀️

I’m too tired to write it. I know it’s there but I just exist. Not happy. Not fulfilled. Just here waiting to be not here.

Maybe it’s because the Vikings lived where it was all sunshine or all darkness for 6 months of the year and that maddening. Plus men.

I'm crying right now watching this. wow. The little girl and teenager in me is begging to be released. I buried my anger in sports and being the perfect student. And trust, I had ALOT to be angry about.
