I have sleep apnea. Yes it can end badly. It all depends on severity level. Even for me, and mine is mild. He can be good with a machine, however it is for life (I have one too). My sister had the surgery, and it worked for only so long. People's body responds differently. At our age (we are the same) surgery will take longer to heal. But he has options. It's his choice which route. Stays just gotta be supportive in his choice.

sleep apnea is not going to kill him, since he knows he has it. He needs a sleeping machine while he makes the decision to have the surgery. I have 3 neighbors that use the machine, but for Chan having to move that machine even though it is portable maybe more work that necessary. Surgery maybe easiest, and it is outpatient meaning it is a simple surgical procedure.
