@sacredchad: The man who would write "The Chronicles of Narnia" became a Christian after one late-night walk with the man who would write "The Lord of the Rings." On the night of September 19, 1931, C.S. Lewis, then an Oxford don who believed in God but not in Christ, invited his friend J.R.R. Tolkien to dinner. After dinner, they walked for hours through the college grounds, talking late into the night. Tolkien, a devout Catholic, argued that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the true myth, the story all other myths of the world were unconsciously pointing toward, the one that really happened in history. Nine days later, Lewis wrote to a friend: "I have just passed from believing in God to definitely believing in Christ, in Christianity." He received communion on Christmas Day, 1931. From that one night came "Mere Christianity," "The Screwtape Letters," and "The Chronicles of Narnia."
