They deserve to be loved, protected, guided, and allowed to simply be children. The pain of feeling responsible for a parent’s happiness can leave scars that last a lifetime. No child deserves to grow up carrying guilt, pressure, or the weight of expectations they never asked for. As parents, we owe our children unconditional love, support, security, and care. Those are our responsibilities. Our children do not owe us their childhood, their peace, their dreams, or their emotional well-being in return. They didn’t ask to be here, we brought them into this world.
