I just got my emt license a couple days ago. All the departments around me require a paramedic license to even apply. Should I just work a 911 emt job and get experience and then go to paramedic school? Do fire departments allow emts to volunteer during that time?

I did all of these things and they still don’t respond to my emails, applications, and calls, should I just go to the fire department in person or something? It’s been so long they don’t respond
