1. pasting my CV into Notepad before I send it If the text comes out scrambled, the software is reading it that way too. Rebuilt mine in a boring single column. Four calls that week. 2. never applying to anything older than three days Recruiters stop reading after about twenty good résumés. If I'm not in the first 24 hours, I'm not in. 3. checking company career pages before job boards Roles land there one to three days before LinkedIn or Indeed. I use CareerHound.io for this ,one feed, filtered to the last 24 hours. 4. googling one weird sentence from anonymous listings

I use CareerHound.io for this ,one feed, filtered to the last 24 hours. 4. googling one weird sentence from anonymous listings "Confidential client, leading technology company." Copy a specific line, search it in quotes. Found the real employer's page. Once, with an $18k higher range. 5. replacing the cover letter with three lines Their requirement. My proof. Their requirement. My proof. Nobody reads paragraphs. Everybody reads that. 6. saying "I don't know yet" instead of bluffing Then finding out and emailing the answer the same day. The "yet" is the whole thing. 7. ending every interview with one extra question "Is there anything about my background that gives you hesitation?" It pulls the silent objection into the room while I can still answer it. 8. explaining my work to someone who doesn't do my work If the story needs big words to sound impressive, it isn't impressive. 9. keeping one column in my tracker: where did I find this? Almost every interview came from a company site, not a board. One column changed how I search. 10. following up 24 hours after every interview 68% of hiring managers say it sways them. 24% of candidates do it. The funny thing is that none of these made me more qualified. They just made it easier for the right people to find what was already on my CV. pick one and steal it this week#careerhound #remotejob #remotework #wfh
