Saw is definitely misunderstood for those reasons, but Rin wasn't selfish, greedy, or immature. Sae never told Rin what happened. All Rin knew was that Sae was the best and nicer brother ever and they've shared that dream for years. Then he suddenly comes back to tell him that he's giving up on their dream and that Rin basically sucks and should quit. I'd be pretty upset too bc he can't understand even if he wanted to

Sae is indeed misunderstood but that doesnt make rin selfish or immature. Keep in mind, Sae never mentioned the reason he changed his dream just “you havent seen the real world” or smth like that, which is very vague and isnt a proper answer. Rin had every right to lash out on Sae. I mean, look at it this way. If you were REALLY close with your older brother like best friend type of close, you both had the same dream etc etc. If your best friend were to leave the country to pursue this dream then come back completely different, crushing your dream, telling you you’re worthless, that you shouldnt stick to them, or that if you were to stick to them you should just quit the dream entirely. You would probably be shook, not understanding where this is coming from, why quit the dream you both were pursuing from a young age. That’s exactly what Rin felt, Sae didnt give him a reason just let go. Now the majority of the fandom have stuck to the fact that Sae probably acted like that to shield Rin from what Sae went through. But the way Sae did it was vague and we dont know the exact reason. Another way to piece this together is by mentioning the Uchiha brothers. If it were to be the same way then kaneshiro probably wrote Sae as a ‘bad brother’ in the beginning. All we have to do is wait for Sae’s backstory to drop

YESSSSS! I by no means believe Sae is an innocent angel because he went entirely too far, but no one ever seems to realize that Rin was 100% immature and even rude in that situation. Sae said he wanted to become the best midfielder, while Rin became the best striker. Instead of supporting his brother or asking why, he immediately says something along the lines of “You're not the brother I remember,” and, correct me if I'm wrong, he calls it lame, too. Rin is young; of course he's going to be immature, but people who act like Sae can't feel a type of way are ridiculous. Sae ONLY responded that way as a result of RINS rejection/disapproval of his dream change.
