Unpopular opinion: don’t have kids until you can afford it

Opposite shifts if possible but also potentially finding a job at a daycare you can put your kids into as well? There may be an employee discount on childcare, you stay close to them, and you can maybe make some money? Idk what those numbers would be or if there would be an employer who could work with her to make sure she actually brings some 💵 home. I know people who have done this in hard times so it’s just an idea

“ Potentially”??? Sir for one child it would cost almost $2,000 where I live. Caleb is starting to forget what not having money is and it’s starting to get very annoying.

It makes me mad that the comments are mad at HER and not mad at the fact that the fed minimum wage hasn’t increased in 17 yrs meanwhile inflation and the cost of living has tripled. And yes childcare for 3 children would be more than what she would make.

For those saying work when your husband is off who is taking care of the kids? Have we forgotten there is a sleeping period for the parents too

When my husband and I were starting out, he worked his shift of 6:30am to 3pm. I would stay home during that time with our son because we couldn't afford daycare. I worked 5 to 11 as a server on weeknights and worked Saturday and Sundays. Did it for years.

I also babysat during the week and did almost 40 hours in 3 days working in a restaurant. I did have excellent bosses so Monday I picked her up and brought her back to work with me while I finished inventory

It’s a hard choice, but I work 12’s on thirds while my kids are home sleeping. It can be done. And it’s just me.

The comments about how people make/made it work annoy me. Why do we tolerate a system that exploits us so billionaires can have another yacht? I stand with the paper wearhouse man.

She’s right though. Childcare is extremely expensive and so is the cost of living

Hmmmm maybe just maybe….hear me out….we shouldn’t have kids until we’re financially comfortable in life? Is it really that foreign of a concept to understand

figure it out or don't have kids . I was on assistance at one point , look into low income housing , donate plasma , don't buy things you can't afford - buy a used car instead of new . Always a way to make it work you just have to do things you don't want sometimes ...
