Gerade im Licht der hier betonten Trennung zwischen analytischer und kontinentaler Philosophie wäre Lacan ein guter „weiterer Standpunkt“( wenn man so will). Obwohl er selbst der kontinentalen Tradition zugerechnet wird, überschreitet sein Denken die Grenzen dieser Einteilung. Er macht sichtbar, dass beide Strömungen letztlich um dieselbe Frage kreisen: die Frage nach dem Menschen als denkendem, sprechendem und begehrendem Wesen. Während die analytische Philosophie die Strukturen der Sprache untersucht und die kontinentale Philosophie die Bedingungen menschlicher Existenz und Erfahrung auslotet, verbindet Lacan beides in seiner Theorie des Subjekts. Seine Psychoanalyse zeigt, dass menschliches Begehren stets sprachlich vermittelt ist und Sprache zugleich mehr enthält, als dem sprechenden Subjekt bewusst sein kann. Gerade darin liegt eine besondere Stärke: Er erscheint nicht als dritte Position zwischen den Lagern, sondern als eine Perspektive die sichtbar macht, worauf beide Traditionen auf unterschiedliche Weise antworten…

Nice post. However Witty did Tractatus first, the ultimate logical analytical picture mode, then pretty much denounced it for his second major work the Philo Investigations, which partly spawned theories of practice, which also split into activity vs phenomenological branches so the analytic - continental split gets kinda complex when related to its impacts and spin offs.

What analytic philosophy fails to examine,is why these misunderstandings happen in the first place and how these vague questions can have concrete effects on the living being. So although they successfully deconstructed the formal content of everyday language,they failed to thematise the desire for interpretation in the first place.

i think i tend to do both. Like i use analytical techniques while also using the continental intentions and doing so interchangeably.
