Looking back on my own father-daughter relationship, what I needed was a dad who was self aware, able to communicate at the heart level not the head, a dad who was emotionally aware and regulated. I grew up feeling “never enough”, “not good enough” because he believed in me but was tough. My father had and has deep wounds from his own parents and childhood. Through therapy, self-learning about trauma, core identity shame issues and emotional intelligence, I have deep compassion for my dad and pray he will heal because to this day, our relationship is strained. Learn the love language of each of your girls and learn how to foster the deeper heart issues in them. Do they know your heart for each of them? Have you asked them questions that go deep into heart and emotional issues? Do you have heart to hearts with them about your desires for them? Stay curious, keep asking, being vulnerable and leaning in to each of them. You are able to articulate and be vulnerable on TT, not sure if they see and hear that side of you. Being vulnerable is scary but it’s good for girls to have that with their fathers. Blessings and prayers.

The thing is that your daughters know that you love them and that you will be there when you need them.

Just be there and let them know no matter what it is they can come talk to you no matter what it is. And things can be worked out.

The most important thing is to keep showing up. The first one you always want to do best for and there is no manual. Girls also have a lot more going on and not for the weak. Sometimes kids dont understand until they have one.Just let them know you love them and there no matter what.

Two boys and one girl for me . And no matter how they were raised each one turned out different and they have made their own decisions even though they weren’t shown or taught it . I just realized I know I did best I could do but they will make their own life choices no matter what I did. They aren’t perfect nor should be but they are all good adults now with their own family trying to figure it out.

Every parent, we all hope and pray we do the best. I have one son who is now 30 and he’s an amazing man, husband and now Father! We all definitely hope and pray that we didn’t push to hard but yet hard enough. A present father is the best thing you can be! Definitely the most important!

Since my Dad passed away when i was 9...the biggest thing I missed was the feeling of safety and security and how a man should treat a woman.

From a girl - showing up for them matters more than anything else. PERIOD. They don’t come with a manual but as a mom with a son and daughter - I have called in some major favors from my friends husbands for my son….

Not one person on this Earth was born knowing how to parent; we all had to wing it and honestly grow and learn along with our kids. The biggest and best thing I learned is to sit down and be a listener. Listen to their day, their struggles, their needs, what is making them joyful at that moment... and listen without judgment, without trying to turn it to a lesson. Offer guidance, but not lectures. Try to show real world issues they may face when on their own and walk through the steps they may need to take to solve (the oldest ones). All three need something different from you, and you will need to figure that out.

Keep doing what you’re doing. Always be encouraging, give her support and of course set the rules. But it’s okay to let go out the reins sine just help them to stay in the right path.

There was three of us my sister was the oldest and a princess did everything girly. I am the middle child and I am a tom boy love sports, motorcycle, boating, just an outside hunting kind of girl. my brother was 4years younger and he is a momma boy......did the sports but really wasn't into it that much and is a home body. So we all have different things we love..... just love them each as they are.

I’m a single mom of a daughter. I pushed her on her school work to get good grades and allowed her to do sports as her grades would allow. Keep showing up and being there and supporting them. That is what matters most. Believe it or not they pay attention and see what you’re doing and are grateful for it.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You are a present & active father, that's what matters. You can't compare how u raised one to the other, each kid is different. We aren't perfect as parents, we do the best we can and when they become parents they realize that.
