Reviewers are not getting payed, they find time from their own time to read articles and analyze them. They just can't check by hand every single citation (and there could be hundreds of them). Journal suppose to adapt and do that technical step, they take money always anyway

Omg this sucks so bad because I’m over here trying to get people to cite peer reviewed sources or to research their opinions with empirical evidence but if this is going on that’s not going to help my case 😵💫
