@hebhjamal: Ulm5, trial day 7. The Ulm5 are 5 pro Palestinian activists who stormed Elbit Systems in the German city of Ulm and damaged a weapons factory for their complicity in arming Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. The 5 are seen here doing the chained heart- a symbol first done by one of the prisoners, Vi, who was trying to make a heart sign but couldn’t because of the shackles on their wrists. Today, the trial was as absurd as it normally is. A person was refused the ability to write notes, so the judge stopped the proceedings to take away the pen from the observer. One lawyer sarcastically said, “thank you for making us safe, now we can continue.” The judge denied all the applications so far that the lawyers of the 5 presented including the ability to sit with their clients , and for an official protocol of the session to take place. Instead officers spent more than 20 mins trying to fix the microphone equipment so that the lawyers can be able to communicate with their defendants who are behind bullet proof glass. Official complaints about harassment of officers to the members of the public and press were also read out. Now, there is a pause to translate a report by Doctors Without Borders because the judge deemed it unacceptable that it was in English.
